As we reflect on the exhilarating experience at Bett 2024, one of the world’s largest EdTech conferences, we’re filled with gratitude and inspiration. Our journey at this year’s event was nothing short of remarkable, filled with memorable moments, engaging presentations, and significant recognition.
Stemi booth experience – a magnet for curiosity and fun
Stemi booth SD60, was once again the hub of excitement for both children and adults. One could witness countless smiles on the visitors’ faces and the mobile phones were on constantly. Stevo, our beloved robot dog, worked tirelessly, charming everyone on the path and drawing a crowd. Once it captivated our visitors with treats, the team warmly welcomed them, answering questions and showcasing our range of hardware and software products.
Unveiling the Future
From our interactive Hexapods and the IoT program to the innovative software features available on our deep learning experience platform like the AI study buddy, the booth was filled with activity and learning.
At Bett 2024, we also unveiled stemi Marketplace – a brand new destination packed with the industry-based STEAM experiences for middle and high schools. It is currently featuring 12 cutting-edge programs from Stemi and partners, covering critical tech fields like IoT, Data Science, AI, Drones, 3D Design, Aviation, and more.
Prompting is the new Googling
Acknowledging the fundamental shift in information access introduced by Large Language Models such as ChatGPT, Bard, etc., we’re proud that Stemi is one of the first companies that already offers students a safe and controlled environment to learn about this cutting-edge technology through our Artificial Intelligence 3.0 program.
Prompting is becoming the new googling, and our students are at the forefront, mastering the art of writing prompts and understanding LLMs.
Partnership on the AI program with a global leader in omni channel engagement – Infobip, is a testament to our vision of preparing teachers and students for an AI-driven world, empowering kids to become creators and use AI for good.
Bett Awards Gala Night
The gala dinner at The Brewery in London was a night of laughter, great company, good food, and positive vibes where we had the opportunity to engage with other companies and startups, fostering a sense of belonging and a shared vision.
Though we didn’t clinch an award this year, being shortlisted in two highly competitive categories – Company of the Year (below £3M) and International Digital Educational Resource – was an honor in itself.
We felt a great sense of accomplishment being in the room with so many amazing individuals who work in the same direction – creating a better educational environment for the youth.
Tech in Action with the CEO
In the Tech in Action theatre, Stemi’s CEO Marin Troselj, along with guest speaker Matt Jessop, head teacher at Crosthwaite Primary, took the stage to showcase the transformative impact of our programs. Marin eloquently spoke about the tangible benefits our technologies have brought to classrooms around the world, emphasizing Stemi’s commitment to empowering both students and educators through innovative tech solutions.
Matt Jessop added a practical perspective from the teacher’s perspective by sharing their inspiring experience with implementing Stemi curricula in their school. This session not only highlighted the effectiveness of our programs but also showcased our successful efforts in connecting educational institutions with the latest technological advancements. It was a powerful demonstration of how we are making significant strides in integrating cutting-edge technology into the fabric of modern education, truly bridging the gap between schools and the tech industry.
The session made us proud to be a part of the Stemi team and was definitely one of the highlights of Bett 2024! 🙂
Memorable Encounters
Bett conference isn’t just about showcasing our products; it is also about community building and sharing visions. This year, we had the chance to connect with other Croatian-based companies and startups, including Vidi-X, Smartsense & CircuitMess, as well as representatives from Carnet. These interactions were not only enriching but also fostered a sense of close community and shared purpose among us all. It’s always inspiring to see how we, as different entities within the same nation, can come together, support each other, and celebrate each other’s successes.
Amongst many, we need to single out one more memorable moment when Katy Potts, who runs everyone’s favorite Kids Judge Bett award, visited our booth and informed us that we remained a favorite among the children, although we weren’t eligible for the award this year as we won it for 2 years in a row. 😭 It did make us a little bit sad and we did our best to charm her into allowing us to enter for the 3rd consecutive year, but learning that Smartsense won the award got us smiling, and we felt proud to pass the torch within the Croatian community. 💪🏼🏆
Highlights and Fun Challenges
The last day of Bett was filled with fun and challenges. Matej from our business development team took on a pushup challenge with the kids, impressing everyone with 36 pushups in 20 seconds, and getting the girls team a victory! We would post a photo as a proof, but we only got it on the video so you will have to patiently wait for Bett highlights video to come out! 🙂
Our educator Tonka, who had previously graced the cover page of the official Bett sales brochure, gave a testimonial to the filming crew about this year’s experience, further solidifying her status as a Bett celebrity no.1. 👌🏼
Marin was committed to providing groups of young students with a genuine hands-on tech experience. He guided them through Stevo’s maintenance, which they enthusiastically accepted and diligently carried out as per his instructions.
When seeing moments of engagement like this, it is no wonder that kids enjoy their experience at the Stemi booth every year. And for the rest of our team, witnessing such moments not only swell our hearts with pride but also reinforce our commitment to creating unforgettable experiences in the world of education.
